A runtime engine is required, either on a client or a server in order to be able to execute reports which have been created by using NotesToPaper. As the installation of a new application often means additional efforts and thus creates costs, we have enabled the installation of NotesToPaper in a number of ways in order to simplify the process as much as possible. The installation of the runtime environment may be accomplished in one of two ways:

Standard installation
The easiest way to install NotesToPaper is via the installation routine provided with the product. This routine is a standard InstallShield installation which may either be executed locally or from a remote location via a system management software. If you choose to download NotesToPaper from our website, then the installation routine is packed as a complete, single file.

Manual installation
The best way to integrate the installation of NotesToPaper into a Notes application is the manual installation. When doing so, you must simply copy every required file to the required directory on the Notes client/server via script programing.
We have created installation requirements for NotesToPaper which are as simple as possible, which means, the NotesToPaper runtime environment does not require any registry or operating system entries. The installation is thus accomplished by a simple file copy of the files required. This makes it possible to distribute NotesToPaper via Notes mail and to include a button in the e-mail which will in turn install the product. You may integrate the installation into the configuration of your own application or, if you use a container database to store all the reports, then you may also maintain the required installation files and routines in that container database and access the installation from there.
In order to demonstrate the simplicity of a manual installation, we have designed a Notes database which shows how easy such an installation can be done, whereby it is fully integrated into the Notes environment. You may use this database as is, modify it to meet your own requirements or use it as a starting point for your own development, for free. You will find a list of the files used and required by NotesToPaper in the products online help.
